FINISHING INSPIRATION
Once you finish stitching your canvas, the next fun part begins! Finishing it into a piece you can treasure for years to come. This page shows a lot of my favorite ways to finish needlepoint.
ORNAMENTS
Ornaments are one of my favorite ways to finish needlepoint. Because they are small, they are a great project to throw in your bag for stitching on the go. I love to stitch ornaments as gifts for friends to represent a fond memory or special interest I share with them.
Finishing Your Own Ornaments
I finish all of my own ornaments. It is a skill that may seem intimidating at first, but it truly gets easier with practice and I believe it adds a special touch to your finished piece.

If you aren't ready to try out finishing yourself, remember you can always work with a local needlepoint shop or independent finisher to have your stitching turned into a beautiful ornament.
PILLOWS
A classic way to finish medium to larger projects, I love creating distinctive pieces for my home decor. Pillows can be seasonal or meant to stay out all year. There are so many details that can be added to a pillow: fabric frame, ruffles, trim, piping, and the list goes on. Even a round ornament canvas can also be stylishly finished as a pillow.
STAND UPS
Stand ups are a wonderful way to add depth to your finishing. Use them to decorate your tablescapes, to add visual interest to bookshelves, or to bring character to any space in your home.
KEYCHAINS
Key fobs are the perfect things to stitch for the utilitarian stitcher. Not only can they be leathered for keeping your keys together, but you can finish them as bracelet cuffs, bookmarks, or even weights to keep your cookbook open.
STOCKINGS
A needlepoint stocking is certainly one of the most treasured heirloom pieces. I have lovingly spent many hours stitching stockings for my family, and each Christmas I look forward to hanging them on the mantle. They truly make the holiday season special.
