We are so excited to continue our blog series “Stitcher Spotlight” - a place where you can get to know some of our favorite stitchers from their needlepoint projects to fun facts about themselves. Today we are featuring Jennifer “Jen” Medlock! Jen is not only a wonderfully talented stitcher, she is incredibly kind too! Follow her stitching journey on Instagram @lynndlpt
I live in Greenville, SC with my husband Colin, Children Ellie (2), William (1) and Matthew (1), our au pair Agus from Argentina (whom I taught to needlepoint!), and our Cavalier King Charles Gigi.
My journey began in 2022 when I was 39 weeks pregnant with my daughter. I saw an Instagram post of a needlepoint ornament which led to me going down a needlepoint rabbit hole soon after. I ordered 3 canvases that same day. A few weeks after my daughter was born I left the house for some “me time” and drove to The Stitching Fox to kit a canvas. The rest is history. I am completely obsessed! This hobby brings me so much joy and is very therapeutic for me. Especially since I had twins in November 2023. Yes, that’s right. I had three under two years old for a couple of months.
Favorite project you ever stitched or finished?
My favorite stitch and finish are my Coco Frank hot air balloons I did for the kids! The 13 mesh made it a quick stitch and I loved color swapping to match their nurseries. The puffed finish was a new finish for me and complimented the design so well!
What’s your favorite canvas in your stash that hasn’t been stitched yet?
The discontinued Beatrix Potter Silver Needle stocking I won on eBay!! I’m planning another color swap on this classic.
What’s a Coco Frank canvas on your wishlist?
This is tough! Nutcracker stocking or the floral alphabet sampler.
What advice do you have for someone new to stitching?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Reach out to stitchers/designers you admire and ask questions. I do this often and it’s how I have learned.
What’s something people wouldn’t guess about you?
Everyone assumes my name is Lynn because of my instagram handle however it’s actually Jennifer and my friends and family call me Jen.
Where can someone find you at a party?
I’ll be working the room! I doubt I’d be in one place for long - dance floor, food & drinks, socializing.
If you had one superpower, what would it be?
I would like to be able to grow extra arms so I can hold all of my babies at once!
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
I’m too shy for karaoke - I blame it on the church solos I did as a child that I didn’t want to do.

13 or 18 mesh?
Depends on the size! I definitely prefer finishing an 18 mesh canvas vs 13 mesh.

I’m a mix of both

Love both! Mostly solo though
